Summary of Services
Old Saybrook Home Watch will prepare a “home watch” plan specifically for you and your home only. We will monitor your house during our weekly and/or bi-weekly inspections through a customizable checklist, tailored to your specific needs.
During our assessments, we will first make sure your home is locked up and secure just as you left it. We will check for any signs of damage, leaks, or any other potential concerns, and take steps immediately to mitigate them.
Here is a list of some of the specific items that we can do on your inspection, with all activity based on the needs and preferences of the homeowner.
Interior
- Visual inspection for leaks – appliances, ceiling, windows, bathrooms, sinks, basement, skylights
- Verify all of your appliances are operating properly
- Check that all windows and doors are locked
- Run faucets, sinks, shower, and flush toilets
- Check that the heating and/or cooling system is functioning and the thermostat is at the correct setting
- Check the electrical panel for tripped breakers
- Look for signs of rodents or insects
- and other items as identified
Exterior
- Inspect the perimeter of the house for any damage
- Check for any signs of vandalism or forced entry
- Visually inspect the roof, and that gutters are functioning properly
- Remove any materials from the property that show signs of non-occupancy
- Inspect for any signs of rodents
- Depending on what season, we verify that landscaping has been maintained, pool is clean, or snow removal has been done
- and other items as identified
Beyond the regular services that include inspections and maintenance checks, we provide additional services depending on the needs and preferences of the homeowner.

Old Saybrook Home Watch uses HomeWatchIT software, which is GPS enabled, to document each inspection and communicate all findings to you immediately. Upon completion, you will receive a full report with photos, GPS, and time-stamped, so you know exactly when we were at your property.
